This tour traces Washington's path as he journeyed from Philadelphia to Cambridge in late June and early July of 1775.

Washington characterizes the trip in a letter to Congress dated July 10, 1775:

 "I arrived safely [...] after a journey attended with a good deal of fatigue and retarded by necessary attentions to successive civilities which accompanied me in my whole route."
